Presbytery of Greater AtlantaThe Presbytery of Greater Atlanta is a supportive network of 92 churches and over 400 clergy with the mission of helping each to be the best it can be--to connect, equip and empower congregations and people to carry out their missions--especially those objectives particular churches cannot accomplish alone. The focus of our presbytery's missional life is connecting congregations to each other and to the larger church of Jesus Christ to be a witness to his life and ministry in the world.We are one of 173 presbyteries (a middle governing body) of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Columbia Theological SeminaryColumbia Theological Seminary is an educational institution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and a community of theological inquiry and formation for ministry in the service of the Church of Jesus Christ. Located in Decatur, Decatur Presbyterian maintains a strong relationship with the seminary, often hosting Supervised Ministry Interns and enjoying special classes and presentations taught by seminary professors. Montreat Conference CenterFor over 100 years, Montreat Conference Center has been a place set apart for those who journey here seeking a closer relationship with their Creator. The conference center is one of the largest affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), and is under the management of the Mountain Retreat Association, which formed in 1905 and is a church-related institute. Montreat annually hosts over 5,000 youth at our six Youth Conferences, offers over 40 conferences and programs year-round for individuals of all ages, and welcomes hundreds of church-related and non-profit guest groups who come to private retreats held at our center. Nestled in a peaceful mountain cove and surrounded by natural beauty, the conference center permanently protected 2,500 acres of pristine wilderness as a dedicated wilderness area registered in the NC Registry of National Heritage Areas, resulting in more than 40 miles of hiking trails for all to enjoy. Philips TowerPhilips Tower is a senior living center located next door to Decatur Presbyterian Church. Home to many DPC members, the relationship between the church and Philips Tower dates back to the senior living center's founding. The facility is named for a former pastor of DPC. Philips Tower is part of Presbyterian Homes of Georgia. Founded in 1949, Presbyterian Homes is a pioneer in residential living for adults age 62 or older. Ours is a tradition of excellence, providing exceptional services to enhance the quality of life for senior adults.Presbyterian Homes of Georgia is a Christian ministry serving people without regard to race, gender, religion, national origin, color, creed, or handicap status.
