On the third Thursday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. as many as a dozen faithful people meet in the Slack Fellowship Hall to prepare sandwiches for Open Door. Others make them at home and bring them at that time. Each month 250-300 sandwiches are transported to Open Door on Ponce De Leon Avenue and added to those made at Open Door by volunteers and others to help feed the homeless people who look to Open Door for hot soup, sandwiches, sweets, vitamins, and dessert three times a week.

To participate in this effort is easy, and it feeds the hungry who need nourishment. DPC budgets $600 a year to underwrite costs not otherwise covered.
