DPC Members Invited to Hear Walter Brueggeman at Trinity Presbyterian
Next month, Dr. Walter Brueggemann will address The Prophetic Imagination in the 21st Century in a series of speaking engagements and worship at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Brueggemann is professor emeritus of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary and one of the most prolific and influential Bible interpreters of our time. He originally published his seminal book The Prophetic Imagination in 1978 and argued that the prophets of the Old Testament and Jesus of Nazareth were poets, speaking a new world into being, and we are called to do the same.
How has his vision changed over the last 40 years? Are there still prophets among us? What is the prophet’s vision for our world today? Can anyone have prophetic imagination? We’ll explore these questions and more! If you’re interested in joining, please RSVP at http://www.trinityatlanta.org/
