MLK Day Service Projects

MLK Service Day Project Registration 

Memorial Drive Ministry Project is for any high school age student or any adult. Volunteers for this project will help with yard work, mural painting, & community building with GVP. Threshold Community Meal is for any child & their parent or any adult. Volunteers for this project will be preparing & serving a meal to Threshold visitors.

 

Service Project with Threshold Ministry
WHO: Middle School Youth, adults and children. (Children should come with a parent in attendance)any adult or child, children must come with a parent).
 
Invite a friend! 
 
WHAT: Cooking a community meal for our Threshold guests and all our neighbors. Volunteers will help prep the meal, decorate the fellowship hall serve the meal and sit at tables and eat with our neighbors. Middle School youth will have the opportunity to visit Threshold Ministry and invite others to join us. Threshold is a ministry of Decatur Presbyterian Church. Learn more here

WHERE: Meet in Fellowship Hall at Decatur Presbyterian Church, 205 Sycamore Street.

Memorial Drive Ministries

WHO: High School Youth, Adults and GVP students, alum, staff and volunteers. 

We need plenty of adults and high school youth volunteers! Invite a friend! 
 
WHAT: A day of service and community building at Memorial Drive Ministries (MDM) with our friends at Global Village Project. Some will do yard work and shrub trimming, others will paint a simple geometric mural to brighten the community. All will engage in games and community building in mixed groups with students, alum, mentors and staff from GVP. MDM is supported by DPC and hosts many nonprofits and worship communities that serve the refugee community of GA. GVP is a school for refugee girls housed in DPC. Come build relationships and also serve our community!   
 
WHEN: Monday, January 20, 2020 from 9:30am-1:00pm
WHERE: Meet at Memorial Drive Presbytery, 5140 Memorial Dr, Stone Mountain, GA 30083

  • Donations. If you would like to donate to support the cost of supplies or food you can do so on the registration form online or by talking with Allysen or Emily.
  • Yard Tools & Equipment. Sign up HERE to let us borrow your tools (Drop them off at DPC by Sunday Jan 19th or bring tools to MDM on Jan 20)

Be sure to note which project you are attending (Threshold or Memorial Drive) and note which age groups are invited to each.
