About Dr. Elizabeth Kiss
dr-elizabeth-kiss-ascElizabeth Kiss became president of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, in 2006. During her tenure, Agnes Scott has launched new programs in public health, human rights, environmental and sustainability studies, neuroscience, and business management; raised over $100 million; and emerged as a sustainability leader, installing a quarter megawatt of solar and creating a $1 million Green Revolving Fund. The college has also been named a “Top Fulbright Producer,” with 30 Fulbrights awarded in the past decade. Recognizing that Agnes Scott was on a financially unsustainable path, Kiss led a transformational plan, called SUMMIT, that brought together the faculty and trustees to refocus the traditional liberal arts women’s college on leadership development and global learning and in Fall 2015 brought the college the largest entering class in its history.

Before coming to Agnes Scott, Kiss was the Nannerl O. Keohane Director of the Kenan Institute for Ethics and an associate professor at Duke University. Earlier, she held faculty positions at Princeton University, Randolph-Macon College, and Deep Springs College. A graduate of Davidson College, Kiss received a B.Phil. and D.Phil. from Oxford University in England, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. She has held fellowships at the Harvard Program in Ethics and the Professions, the National Humanities Center, and Melbourne University’s Centre on Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics.
