Hi everyone! I have enjoyed getting to know members of Decatur Presbyterian during my first month as your new Director of Threshold Ministries and look forward to meeting more and more of you in the coming months! I am writing today to let you know of all the volunteer opportunities that are available to help those in need through DPC’s Threshold Ministry Program. We would love your help on Mondays and Thursdays between 8:00 and 11:45 am when we are open and serving our guests morning hospitality and sack lunches, and meeting their requests for health kits, MARTA cards, and their other more complex needs. We also are in the process of creating two new Threshold Teams to help us with purchases of supplies, and restocking our copies of resource sheets and forms. One team would be responsible for purchasing our food supplies for breakfasts and lunches either weekly or bi-monthly. The second team would be responsible for stopping by the church and making copies of resource sheets and forms monthly and restocking the shelving unit that holds the resource materials that we hand to our guests. Please email me at lraymer@dpchurch.org if you would like to volunteer and let us know how you would like to help. We are in need of clean wash cloths and deodorant for our hygiene kits, if you would like to contribute to this specific need.
