Confirmation

The Confirmation Journey is a time of learning, growth, asking questions, and discerning what kind of faith a young person wants to make for themselves.

Confirmation signifies a young person’s transition to owning and taking responsibility for their faith and their commitment to God and to The Church.

Confirmands are part of a cohort of other youth, typically of those in 8th or 9th grade, and paired with a mentor who accompanies them on the journey as they learn and serve together. The next cohort will begin in the Spring 2024.

Confirmation is process of deconstructing the faith tradition inherited from their parents and reconstructing a new life of faith which they have claimed for themself. Prior to confirmation it is like Jesus is your parents’ friend, and the confirmation journey is about building a relationship with Christ that doesn’t rely on the parents to keep it going.
