Adult Groups and Classes

At DPC we have several opportunities for adults to engage and grow in their faith.

You are invited to engage and discover belonging in DPC’s adult groups and classes where you will receive a warm welcome and enjoy meaningful faith-related conversations.

Sunday Morning Classes

Cornerstone Class

The Cornerstone Class, ably led by Dave and Dina Williams, has a broad and interesting discussion curriculum with a hybrid option for those who are not available to meet in person. This class meets in the Session Room at 9:00am on Sundays.

Crusader Class

The Crusaders Class, which has been meeting for over 60 years, meets in the Parlor Classroom at 9:15am on Sundays. The relationships of these class members have inspired our congregation for generations. Excellent, engaging teachers lead this lecture-style class.

Fellowship Class

The Fellowship Class meets in the Upstairs Conference Room at 9:30am on Sundays. This newly revived class for adults of various ages enjoys a discussion-type class and regular Fellowship events.

Friendship Class

The Friendship Class meets online by Zoom at 8:45am on Sundays. The group typically studies the weekly worship scripture and themes. This class is perfect for those who are unable to attend in-person because of health or distance.  Contact Pastor Tully Fletcher for more information.

Bible Studies During the Week

Presbyterian Women’s Ministry

The Presbyterian Women is a ministry open to all women. Presbyterian Women (PW) offers women meaningful ways to live out their faith in the midst of a caring community of women. All women are welcome. Whether you are a member, have been visiting, or looking for a community for supportive women, you are welcome to join at any time. This ministry is also open to women of all ages.

The women of the church gather on the 2nd week of each month in 3 different small groups:

  • Tuesday morning (10am)
  • Thursday evening (6pm)
  • Sunday lunch (12pm, following worship)

Regular meetings do not take place during June, July, and August. Instead all women are invited to gather for dinner once a month at a local restaurant.

In addition to their monthly Bible lesson, Presbyterian Women participate in a number of mission efforts, both locally and globally, and support and care for one another and the other members of DPC. Throughout the year, groups will gather all together for a women’s retreat and a Christmas or spring brunch.

For more information please contact the church office.

Faith in Real Life

During the week, Rev. Vernon Gramling leads two Faith in Real Life Zoom opportunities – one on Monday nights at 7:00pm and the other on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am. Vernon elicits fruitful and relevant discussion over the scripture text for the coming Sunday. Our worship is enhanced weekly by those who have already spent time with the text for the day, and the lives of the participants are enriched by their shared experiences. If you would like to participate via Zoom, please contact Vernon Gramling, 404-378-1777.

Visit the Faith In Real Life page.

Faithful Living Class

Faithful Living Bible study, typically led by Pastor Todd, meets on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:15pm in the Parlor Classroom and explores the sermon text for the upcoming Sunday. Most participants stay for the intergenerational fellowship dinner at 6:15pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Fellowship Groups

Senior Adult Ministry (SAM)

Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) plans monthly events and outings for the active senior adults of DPC and the community.

Although SAM sponsors the events, anyone (of any age) in the church is welcome to attend. Events include a variety of faith based programs, musical performances, or day trips. If the event is off-site, the church will provide for or arrange transportation.

For more information please contact the church office.

Break Bread Groups

Each season new break bread groups are formed. These groups of 5 to 8 people gather for a meal monthly to fellowship, pray, and grow. Some groups meet at people’s homes, other groups meet at restaurants; some groups meet for dinner, others for breakfast. There is sure to be a group that fits your schedule.

Wednesday Night Dinner

Whether you’re a long-time member of our congregation or a newcomer to our community, we invite you to join us this Wednesday. You can share a meal, make new friends, sing in a choir, study the Bible, and experience the warmth of our Presbyterian family.
