What is ‘Break Bread’?
Break Bread is small groups of DPC members gathering together, sharing a meal, and enjoying fellowship. It is a great way to meet new people and strengthen bonds with others in our church family.
“We’ve really enjoyed making new friends through our Break Bread groups over the past three years. It’s a great way to learn the stories of the church family while sharing fun, delicious meals together.”
– Clark Simmons & Larry Owens
How are groups assigned?
Groups are generally 6 to 8 people and are assigned based on the preferences you select when you register, such as weekday or weekend and eat in or eat out. Both new members and long-time members participate.
“Break Bread groups are a fun way to get to know people in our church family better. The Eat In groups are an invitation to get to know people through coming to their homes for a meal. The Eat Out groups offer fellowship, as well as an opportunity to try new restaurants — a perfect option for people with busy schedules. Fellowship with other Christians is at the heart of our faith, and Break Bread Groups offer a wonderful path to that fellowship.”
– Anne & Mike Leaf
How many times will we meet?
Your group will meet three times between September and December at dates and places determined by the group. (New groups will form in January to meet between February and May.)
“Les and I have truly enjoyed the Break Bread groups! Break Bread has introduced us to people whose path into the church is not similar to ours, and we have made fast friends with people we would not have otherwise met. Whether it is an Eat In home group or an Eat Out restaurant group, you still make new friends and find out so much about your fellow church members.”
